As global rock heavyweights FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and VOLBEAT gear up for their co-headlining North American fall arena tour kicking off tomorrow, Tuesday, 9/16 in Salt Lake City, several dates including shows at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum (Cedar Rapids, IA), Deltaplex Arena (Grand Rapids, MI), Mohegan Sun Arena (Uncasville, CT) and The Joint at the Hard Rock (Las Vegas) have already sold out in advance of the start of the tour.
The tour is produced by Frank Productions/NS2. Special guests joining FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and VOLBEAT are HELLYEAH as direct support and NOTHING MORE as the opener. For tickets, go to www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com/tour. 5FDP VIP packages are available at: http://bit.ly/Rm0eBh.
“The two hottest rock bands out there are all geared up to start the biggest rock tour of the fall,” explains promoter Charlie Goldstone, President, Frank Productions Concerts, LLC. “We strongly encourage fans who have been waiting to buy tickets to act now so you don’t get left in the dust!”
Last month, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH debuted the video to their new single “Wrong Side Of Heaven” which can be viewed here: http://vevo.ly/wM96O1. The video, written by the band and directed by Nick Peterson, is intended to increase knowledge about the plight of veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its larger repercussions for our country by way of affecting their mental and physical health, family life, assimilation back home after service and garnering quality job placement, among many other issues. The clip has received over 3,669,411 views since August 11.
In tandem with the video’s premiere, the band launched the webpage www.5fdp4Vets.com and ignited a special crowd-funding campaign for a jersey entitled 5FDP4VETS “No One Gets Left Behind” on Indiegogo. The campaign’s goal of raising $50,000 was bested by double in less than two day’s time—and exceeding $210,000 to date with another 10 days running. The proceeds will benefit the organizations that joined forces with the group to raise awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD. Fans who pledged will receive a limited-edition jersey created and designed by guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY. The initial run of shirts ran out, and the band expanded it by 1,000 in order to keep up with the overwhelming demand.
Undoubtedly one of the most relevant and successful rock bands globally, 5FDP dominated 2013 with the releases THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN AND THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE OF HELL, VOLUME 1 and VOLUME 2. Both volumes debuted on the U.S. Billboard album chart at #2 (more notably, within a four-month period) and in the top ten mainstream charts all across the globe. The two albums feature two #1 radio hit singles (“Lift Me Up” featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest and “Battle Born”) and have combined sales of over 650,000 units to date. The multi-million selling rock titans’ have had 13 consecutive top ten hits at Rock Radio with the brand new single for “Wrong Side Of Heaven” already climbing up the charts quickly.
USA TODAY proclaimed: “VOLUME 2 elevates the group to the top of its game. Offering more than blind rage, though there’s certainly plenty, the songs live in the tension implied by the album’s title–aware of the implications of lashing out, ready to accept the consequences” (11/19/13). Following Australia’s Soundwave Festival and shows across Japan and South East Asia, the band concluded a sold out European headlining tour earlier this year. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is Ivan Moody (vocals), Zoltan Bathory (guitar), Jeremy Spencer (drums), Jason Hook (guitar) and Chris Kael (bass).
VOLBEAT’s OUTLAW GENTLEMEN & SHADY LADIES has sold more than 300,000 copies in the U.S. according to Soundscan, alongside hundreds of thousands of digital singles. The Danish quartet received their first GRAMMY nomination in the “Best Metal Performance” category for “Room 24” (Volbeat Featuring King Diamond), and won Germany’s Echo Award for “Best International Alternative Act.” The band’s repertoire has become a staple at Active Rock radio, cementing their relevance with six consecutive #1 singles at the format. Their latest “Dead But Rising” recently hit the peak of the chart. Overseas, OUTLAW GENTLEMEN & SHADY LADIES has been certified platinum in their home country of Denmark, alongside Germany and Austria, with gold sales in Finland.
Since forming in Copenhagen in 2000, VOLBEAT has released five studio albums and two live offerings that have turned the band into superstars, collecting platinum discs and prestigious awards making them one of the most talked about bands around the world. OUTLAW GENTLEMEN & SHADY LADIES, debuted at No. 1 in Denmark alongside Canada, Germany, Norway, Switzerland and Austria. The new release saw a debut at No. 2 in Finland, No. 4 in the Netherlands and Sweden, and No. 9 in The United States. VOLBEAT is Michael Poulsen (vocals/guitar), Anders Kjølholm (bass) and Jon Larsen (drums), joined by former Anthrax/The Damned Things guitarist Rob Caggiano, who produced the new album with longtime VOLBEAT co-producer Jacob Hansen.
The upcoming tour marks VOLBEAT’s fifth visit to North America this album cycle. This past year, the band has been one of the largest touring draws on the European continent headlining both festivals and an arena tour, and they appeared at the major Japanese festival Summer Sonic 2013 in both Tokyo and Osaka. Cumulatively, VOLBEAT has performed for over a million fans since the current album was released.
