London Announce Summer Tour
For the first time in years, rock band London is doing a summer tour, and the legendary Hollywood foursome led by singer Nadir D’Priest is doing it big, highlighted by an appearance at Rocklahoma on Saturday, May 25 in support of Alice in Chains, Bullet for My Valentine and a lots of other top bands.
The annual three-day festival in Pryor, Oklahoma also features Guns N’ Roses and Bush on Friday, May 24 and Korn, Cheap Trick and Steel Panther on Sunday, May 26.
What makes the event even more exciting for London fans – and there a lot of them out there because the famed Sunset Strip band has never gotten its due respect – is the release of “London Live,” a nine-track CD available for the first time at Rocklahoma and also available soon on the London website londontheband.net.
“Rocklahoma is the biggest thing since Woodstock, and we’re really looking forward to being there,” D’Priest said. “Rocklahoma is leader of rock shows right now, and we’re happy to be part of it.”
London is also touring through Salt Lake City, Dallas, Philadelphia, New York, Michigan, Florida and lots of other cities including a heavily anticipated show May 31 at the famed Whisky in Hollywood
“We’re back in business, so get ready for us,” D’Priest said. “It’s definitely on folks, and it’s been long enough. We are back, and excited to be touring and playing to our fans across the country.”
“London Live” is a London self-produced album, engineered by legendary Michael Wagener and mastered by Maor Appelbaum, along with additional mixes by Roy Z Ramirez (Halford, Iron Maiden).
The songs were recorded live in Nashville at 12th and Porter and at the renowned Grand Ol’ Opry, as London was the first hard-rock band ever to play at the Grand Ol’ Opry.
The live CD is well-done, and the tracks sound HUGE. There’s a good chance “London Live” will be the group’s “Budokan,” and after the American dates the tour continues in Europe, where London has a large following.
“We’re ready to rock, yes indeed,” London drummer Alan Krigger said.
The band has a new guitar player, Toni Aleman, a young hot-shot who formerly played with Mandy Lion of World War III.
