Turbogeist - Ancient SecretsPunk Rock has a new sound and it’s called .  These four London ‘grunge punks’  have just completed a month long sprint around the UK in support of their latest five track EP, Ancient Secrets, on Spinefarm Records.   February 6, 2013, began their tour in Manchester, with the band venturing up to Glasgow and Edinburgh, returning to hit several more cities in England before putting on the finishing touches in Bedford.

has the out front vocals of Jimmy Jagger, guitarist Luis Felber, bassist James Dunson and drummer Josh Ludlow.  Formed in 2009, they describe their sound as a mix of party punk with an obsession with the macabre and fantastic aural imagery, slinging in some heavy alternative rock.  Being exposed as young teens in the 90’s in the Brit Pop, Grunge and Hip Hop era, made a distinct impression on this group.  are undeniably making a name for themselves.  Anyone who has a craving for punk-alternative rock will revel in the tunes coming from Ancient Secrets.

Mermaid’s Revenge, Zero Friends, Black Hole, Up Front and Rats set the five titles on the EP which will be released on March 11 in the UK and March 12 in the U.S.  Each track clearly defines their punk/grunge/heavy metal/alternative sound.   Heavy guitar influences from over three decades and a bit of glam trash thrown in for good measure, along with the unmistakable sound of original punk rock.

The band describes the reasoning behind Mermaid’s Revenge as a song about humanities attempts to conquer nature and is overtly chanted in the chorus, “you’re not human anymore”.  Zero Friends, a reflection of some Facebook accounts, “I got zero friends”, has the undeniable classic punk rock drive.  The final three tracks validate the pure raw, hardcore, thrashing rock sound made famous in earlier years, executed fantastically today by .
