Richard Rosenthal

Richard Rosenthal's history with Screamer Magazine goes way back to the summer of 1988, when he started writing for the publication. From 1988-1992, Richard was in the thick of it when the Sunset Strip was the hard rock and heavy metal capitol of the world. Spending many a night at the Whisky, the Roxy, Gazzarri's and the Troubadour, Richard covered both local bands as well as the biggest names in music. Now, as Screamer enters the digital age, Richard is excited to once again be contributing to the magazine.

DIEMONDS – The Bad Pack

Diemonds are fully, unabashedly old school hard rock.  Anyone who was of age in the late 80’s will immediately feel the pull of nostalgia listening to The Bad Pack.  (I spent many a night on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood way back then, and if I close my eyes listening to this album, I can… Read more »

Ron Young and Little Caesar–Honest Rock ‘N Roll

Posted on

It’s funny, really.  Do any research about the band Little Caesar, and you’d be hard-pressed to find any article, anywhere, that doesn’t obsess about the band’s image, and how their tattooed biker look was at odds with the hair-metal bands of the late 80’s.  The music always seems to get lost in the shuffle.  Well, Little Caesar… Read more »

“Help, I’m steppin’ into the twilight zone. The place is a madhouse,  feels like being cloned.” No, this isn’t an interview with the band Golden Earring.  It’s an interview with Michael Lardie from the band Great White–not to be confused with Jack Russell’s Great White.  They are separate bands–although Lardie and Russell played for many years… Read more »
