Multi-Grammy winning rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a December 11th appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The quartet will give a special outdoor performance as part of the “Jimmy Kimmel Live! Concert Series.”
The seminal rock band is celebrating the release of new LP SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. Associated Press called the LP “shiny and oh so bright,” Entertainment Weekly spotlighted it on “The Must List,” Vulture said it shows a “clearly rejuvenated singer-guitarist Billy Corgan,” the San Francisco Chronicle praised its “sublime, bristling melodies” and Q magazine gave it 4 stars, pointing out its “moments of glorious burning distortion” and called single “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” “one of the most resplendent songs of their career. For a band claiming ‘no past’ and ‘no future,’ the present suits them extremely well.” And after listening to it, Spin wrote, “we should know by now not to count Corgan out.”
SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. was produced by multi-Grammy winner Rick Rubin and is the first Smashing Pumpkins LP in over 18 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin with longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder. The LP can be heard in its entirety by clicking HERE.
Last week the band launched their special 30th anniversary live shows with sold-out performances at The Sylvee in Madison and the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Tickets are also now available for the band’s 2019 European headline shows (see itinerary below) – click HERE for more info.
