Cody_Beebe_and_The_Crooks-Press_Shot_BW_sm will release their new full-length album OUT HERE on Tuesday, May 7 independently. Meanwhile, the Seattle-based, self-proclaimed “road warriors” have unveiled a new music video for the first single “Hold The Line.” The song and video bring to light a recent hot-button social issue–gun control. The video is creating buzz online, having been viewed over 4,000 times in the first two days:

make rock music. It’s raw, it’s true and every track is a slice of Americana. “Roots rock seems like the best term to encompass everything we’re doing,” says frontman and guitarist CODY BEEBE. The band doesn’t stop with rock; they incorporate elements of blues, jazz, country, funk and soul to helm their distinctive sound. “We make Southern rock, but we’re from the Northwest,” BEEBE jokes. It’s as if Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band updated their vibe and sprinkled it with pieces of Big Sky Country, Puget Sound, and Evergreen forests.

For this new album, their sophomore offering, the band enlisted producer and engineer John Goodmanson (Death Cab for Cutie, Brandi Carlile, Nada Surf) to capture the live essence of the group. Recorded to tape at London Bridge Studio, OUT HERE is reminiscent of the distinctive Seattle sound forged in the 90s, putting a fresh twist on familiar tones heard on iconic records created within the same studio.

To coincide with the release of OUT HERE, CODY BEEBE (guitar, lead vocals), JOE CATRON (hand percussion, vocals), BRIAN PAXTON (drums, vocals), ERIC MILLER (bass guitar, vocals) and AARON MYERS (keys, vocals)–have confirmed spring/summer tour dates. They have also planned a pair of special album release shows: Friday, May 10 in their hometown of Seattle, WA at Neumos and Saturday, May 18 at Los Angeles’ Molly Malone’s. Full tour itinerary is below and ticket info is available at

Since their 2010 debut full-length release Friends of the Old Mill, CODY BEEBE & THE CROOKS have been touring vigorously–close to 400 shows–and have played a number festivals and fairs from Washington to New York. They have shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Stevie Nicks, Iron and Wine, Jimmie Vaughan, K.D. Lang, Allen Stone, Augustana, Josh Turner, Little River Band, Jason Reeves, Randy Rogers Band, and many more.

In addition, the band has also founded their own music festival, the Chinook Music Festival. The three-day event will take place September 13-15, 2013 at Jim Sprick Community Park in Naches, WA (less than 3 hours outside Seattle). A limited quantity of festival tickets are available now at and include camping fees. Aside from CODY BEEBE & THE CROOKS, this year’s lineup of the West Coast’s best Roots Rock, Blues, Americana, and Folk artists includes Lee Oskar,  Robert Jon & The Wreck, Jeff Crosby & The Refugees, Blake Noble, Tango Alpha Tango, Ben Union and Tim Snider, with more artists to be announced soon. Check out highlights from last year’s festival here:

Everything CODY BEEBE & THE CROOKS do, from touring, to creating Chinook Fest, they’ve done on their own. It gives the band a great satisfaction to connect with their fans and make the music they want to make. The band has something greater than fame and fortune; they have a tight bond that cannot be broken. “We’re constantly trying to keep up with an ever-evolving industry. We’ve learned from trial and error. We’ve never been on a record label,” BEEBE says, “but, we have a brotherhood and we all depend on each other.” That’s what makes OUT HERE so authentic and powerful.
