GOING GREY finds The Front Bottoms embracing the impermanence of life and finding flexibility in the face of change.  Having relocated band headquarters to the coastal New Jersey community of Asbury Park during the demoing stages of the album, GOING GREY sees the band acknowledging the nostalgia of simpler times with admiration, while welcoming the inevitable unknowns of life.

Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Brian Sella and drummer Mathew Uychich, the New Jersey-based band made their Fueled By Ramen debut with 2015’s acclaimed studio album, “BACK ON TOP,” highlighted by singles “HELP” and “Cough It Out” – the latter named by NPR Music as one of its “Favorite Songs Of 2015.” The album earned copious critical attention, with NOISEY declaring “What really hits home with The Front Bottoms is the ragged honesty and raw wound emotional urgency of the songs.”   The A.V. Club praised The Front Bottoms’ “steady maturation,” noting the band had “the confidence to eschew jangling crises for a quieter set of contemplations.” SPIN applauded the album’s “fuller sound,” suggesting, “Signing to Fueled By Ramen gave them the opportunity to further polish their winning melodies and conversational lyrics.”

Hailed by NPR’s All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen as “one of the absolute ten best American bands in a live situation,” The Front Bottoms celebrated “BACK ON TOP” with nearly non-stop touring, including sold out headline runs and widely applauded sets at such American festies as Lollapalooza, ACL Music Festival, Panorama, Boston Calling, Shaky Knees, and Coachella (where Rolling Stone declared them among the “30 Best Things We Saw At Coachella 2016”). In addition, The Front Bottoms made a number of high profile TV appearances, among them NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers.
