that metal show PHOTO - Ep4 Guests (Colin Douglas Gray)With Season 14 of “That Metal Show” already making history (the Season 14 premiere was the second most watched Season Premiere in the history of the series) VH1 Classic’s centerpiece in original programming makes history again with its most diverse lineup of guests since the show began. This week’s show features legendary punk drummer Marky Ramone of the Ramones, Hip-Hop’s “King Of Rock” Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC, and thrash forefather and guitar hero Gary Holt of Exodus/Slayer.

The episode also features Whitesnake’s new guitarist and TMS alum Joel Hoekstra making his return to “That Metal Show” as the guest musician. Joel dazzles the crowd with his incredible playing abilities and gives us some insight about the upcoming new Whitesnake record called The Purple Album slated for release on May 19th. Whitesnake singer and longtime friend of the show David Coverdale checks in via the “Metal Modem” from the recording studio where he is presently laying down the final tracks for The Purple Album.

Marky, Darryl, and Gary are candid and reveal their love of classic rock in the “Put It On The Table” segment. Eddie has a difficult time with “Stump The Trunk” this week and “Take It Or Leave It” has the guys discussing music streaming services and how they feel it affects the current music business. The “TMS Top 5” discusses the hosts’ favorite Album Closers and the “Throwdown” pits two genre smashing songs against each other as Run DMC/Aerosmith “Walk This Way” faces the Public Enemy/Anthrax “Bring Tha Noize.”

Fans can watch all previous episodes and other exclusive bonus clips at ThatMetalShow.VH1.com and on the new VH1 app as well as the new “That After Show” segment.

Season 14 will mark the return of some notable faces in hard rock/heavy metal and contain a large group of first timers as well. Some Season 14 guests will include “That Metal Show” alumni Chris Jericho, Kerry King of Slayer, Zakk Wylde, Michael Schenker, Ace Frehley, Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot, and Mark Tremonti of Tremonti/Alter Bridge. This season marks first-time appearances for Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless, Max Cavalera formerly of Sepultura and currently with Soulfly, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, and Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides. Jason Becker will appear on the “Metal Modem” in an upcoming episode. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, who joined us last year on the ‘Metal Modem’ is going to make her first appearance as a guest on the show. More guest confirmations will be announced at a later date.

Known for having the best musicians in music perform each week on “That Metal Show,” Season 14 continues the trend with TMS guest musician alumnus Frank Hannon of Tesla. TMS first timers will be double-neck shred-master Michael Angelo Batio, Rich Ward of Fozzy, Damon Johnson of Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders, and Nita Strauss of Alice Cooper/The Iron Maidens. The channel features the gods of rock – from Black Sabbath, Metallica, and Iron Maiden to Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, and Dire Straits – in marquee concerts and music specials, and of course, tons of classic music videos. Recent big events include “National Metal Day” (11.11) and “Metal Evolution”, an 11-part documentary series on the history of metal.  When it comes down to it – all music should go to 11.
