Sammy Hagar & FriendsOn August 1, Sammy Hagar kicked-off a week of premieres for “Knockdown Dragout” — the anthemic lead track from his highly-anticipated upcoming rock collaborations album, “Sammy Hagar and Friends” — with a high-octane performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno:

Following on the heels of his debut TV performance of the track, on Monday, August 5, fans around the world can watch the promo video for the new single on Sammy Hagar’s official YouTube Channel

The duet with Kid Rock also features Joe Satriani and heralds the release of the album on September 24 in North America, September 27 in Europe and September 29 in the UK on Frontiers Records.

In addition to the 10-track Standard Edition album, fans will also have an opportunity to purchase a Deluxe Edition of “Sammy Hagar and Friends,” packaged in a high-gloss Digipak. The Deluxe CD/DVD package includes an exclusive bonus audio track, “Space Station #5,” featuring the reunion of the original first Montrose album lineup with very special guest, Joe Satriani. In addition the Deluxe Edition includes a 1-hour DVD that includes a “Making of” album documentary, the music video for “Knockdown Dragout,” and other exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

Fans who pre-order via will receive a second exclusive digital bonus track of “Bad Motor Scooter,” also recorded live at the Ronnie Montrose Tribute Concert held on April 27.

Hagar is celebrating the release of the album and his forty years in music with his Four Decades of Rock tour, presented by Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum. The tour kicked off July 26 in Tucson, AZ and will touch down in 13 more cities through September.
