Sub Pop is a record label most noted for signing Nirvana and Soundgarden, two bands that helped define what became known as grunge or “The Seattle Sound” in the late 80’s. In addition to being a successful label, Sub Pop has a retail store at SeaTac airport in Seattle that is packed with merchandise and music memorabilia. Unfortunately, it’s off-limits to the general public unless you have an airline ticket, as it’s beyond the TSA checkpoints.
To remedy that problem Sub Pop has opened another retail location in the South Lake Union area of downtown Seattle. Recently, L.A.’s Screamer Magazine Assistant Editor Richard Rosenthal visited the store and proudly placed a Screamer sticker on the large sticker wall. He also presented store manager Rachel R (pictured with shop dog Frankie) with her very own Screamer T-Shirt. Best of luck to Sup Pop for success in their new location.
