Rock singer, songwriter and musician TERRY McDERMOTT has been a professional musician, touring all over the UK and U.S., for more than 10 years. In September 2012, McDERMOTT’s successes reached the mainstream masses when he placed second on season 3 of NBC’s wildly popular singing competition “The Voice.” Since wrapping up the show, TERRY’s fans–known as McHobbits–have continued to rally behind him, propelling his first solo single “Pictures” all the way up to #1 on the iTunes Rock Singles chart in less than 24 hours.
The Scottish-born, New Orleans-based rocker returns with a new track “Lose This Feeling,” out Thursday, October 31. “Lose This Feeling” showcases TERRY’s commanding, soaring vocals and was co-written by McDERMOTT and frequent musical collaborator and friend Todd Burman, formerly of Australian band Juke Kartel. A new music video for “Lose This Feeling” will also debut on October 31. TERRY and his band the Bonfires–guitarist Dave Rosser (The Afghan Whigs), bassist Alex Smith (World Leader Pretend) and New Orleans drummer Eric Bolivar–are also putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming EP, to be released in November.
Additionally, McDERMOTT & The Bonfires have confirmed a few shows. On Tuesday, November 5, they will perform a benefit concert in Washington, D.C. at The State Theatre in support of the Semper Fi Fund and the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins. ALS, often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a cause close to TERRY’s heart as his mother passed from the disease. Tickets are $40 and on sale now at http://bit.ly/19k9zAO. The following night, Wednesday, November 6, the band will perform a free show at Los Angeles’ Molly Malone’s. Space is limited and tickets can be reserved in advance at http://bit.ly/158fHsm. Also, on Sunday, December 8, McDERMOTT & The Bonfires will headline the House of Blues New Orleans. Tickets go on sale today at http://bit.ly/GPQha4.
