October 12, 2015 – After landing in the Top Five on many of Amazon’s pre-order charts, including #1 on the Amazon BestSellers/Hard Rock chart and #1 on the Amazon Pre-Orders/Hard Rock Albums charts, THE WINERY DOGS–Richie Kotzen (vocals, guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), Mike Portnoy (drums)–are now celebrating a HOT STREAK of first week album sales. The trio’s second critically-acclaimed album sold 30% more than their 2013 self-titled debut, landing them on various Billboard album charts including #2 on “Top Current Alternative Albums” and #30 on the “Top 200 Albums.” Elsewhere on the Billboard charts:
#5 “Top Hard Music Albums”
#6 “Top Current Rock Albums”
#6 “Album Core / Genre Rock”
#15 “Top Current Physical Albums”
#16 “Top Current Albums”
HOT STREAK is THE WINERY DOGS’ appropriately titled, self-produced studio album, which came out October 2 on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment) and in the rest of the world via earMUSIC. It was preceded by the first single, “Oblivion,” which was released to radio August 25 and quickly made its way onto the Top 30 of the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart. A double vinyl edition of the new album is also in the works and is due out November 13.
What better way to spread the word about a new album than with a viral video? Drummer MIKE PORTNOY highly entertained himself and fans by playing on a Hello Kitty drum kit for Loudwire.com. On Wednesday, October 7 it was the #1 trending topic on Twitter.
After playing over 100 shows worldwide in support of their self-titled debut album, THE WINERY DOGS are back out on the road to get behind HOT STREAK. Shows around the globe are already being planned for 2016.
