Green Day will once again headline THE VOODOO MUSIC AND ARTS EXPERIENCE PRESENTED BY STEPHEN REHAGE.  The Grammy Award-winning trio last performed at VOODOO in 2004; their most recent appearance in New Orleans was at the historic re-opening of the Louisiana Superdome in September 2006.  Green Day will be releasing three albums, a trilogy entitled ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! on Reprise Records.  ¡Uno! will be released on September 25, ¡Dos! on November 13, and ¡Tré! on January 15, 2013.

Fellow headliners Neil Young & Crazy Horse also lead the 2012 VOODOO line-up which once again features artists from a variety of musical genres, while also reflecting the cultural gumbo that defines this historic and beloved American city.  The preliminary line-up also includes:  Skrillex; Justice; Tomahawk; Say Anything; Bootsy Collins; Gary Clark Jr.; and Preservation Hall Jazz Band.  VOODOO’s full line-up of 150 acts will be unveiled in the coming months.

“I believe this year’s line-up is developing into something really special,” says Stephen Rehage, the founder/producer of VOODOO.  “Green Day’s set in 2004 is one of the greatest performances in the festival’s 13-year history.  Having them choose to do their only U.S. show of 2012 at Voodoo is pretty extraordinary. And the confirmation of Neil Young & Crazy Horse is epic.  They are one of a handful of artists that you hope to have the privilege to work with at some point in your career.  It’s what you dream of when you create something like Voodoo.”

Celebrated as one of America’s most eclectic festivals and the final musical event of the annual U.S. music festival season, this year’s VOODOO–Friday, October 26, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28–will mark its 14th consecutive year.

Excitingly, new to this year’s annual musical celebration is on-site camping.  A longtime tradition at the most renowned music festivals around the world, this is the first time it will be offered to VOODOO attendees.  The inaugural camping experience will offer festival goers the chance to sleep under the stars amidst two hundred year old oak trees, picturesque lagoons and waterways of New Orleans’ historic City Park and located just steps away from the entrance to the annual Halloween weekend music celebration.  Camping options range from general tent camping with basic amenities to a luxurious all-encompassing camping experience, where concertgoers can arrive to move-in-ready 10×13 safari style tents complete with cots, bedding and pillows along with exclusive VIP access throughout the VOODOO weekend.  All details on the various VOODOO camping options, rules, regulations and FAQs can be found at the website (www.thevoodooexperience.com).
