AXS TV’S The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands concluded their fifteenth and final episode of Season 3 with MR. SPEED – a tribute to KISS. The band is based out of Cleveland, OH and have been in existence close to 20 years. During that time, they have jammed with current and former members of KISS and were even featured on Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Rich Kosak (The Starchild), Joe Hess (The Spaceman), Andrew Sgambati (The Catman) and Danny Ayala (The Demon) made the trek to The Whisky-A-Go-Go to pay tribute to their favorite band on live TV broadcast across the nation – truly the highest honor to date for a tribute band. The venue was packed out with KISS fans when the band was introduced by Katie Daryl. Decked out in their Love Gun-era KISS costumes, the band started off with Detroit Rock City. They looked and sounded just like the real thing and proceeded to faithfully recreate a condensed version of a KISS concert, including great versions of Shout It Out Loud, Deuce, I Love It Loud, Love Gun and several other KISS favorites. Their set even included the KISS disco-era classic I Was Made For Loving You. A large bonus and a good tie-in with the band KISS featured the arena football team the L.A. KISS cheerleaders dancing onstage with the band during the encore of Rock And Roll All Night, which added even more visual appeal to the show. The TV series was picked up for a fourth season and will be returning in the fall with more live tribute acts (previous episodes spanning the last 3 seasons of the show have included tributes to Metallica, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Queen and two tributes to AC/DC). Whether you’re a KISS fan or not, a good time was had by all!
