There’s always something to do, somewhere to go, or a band to listen to in Vegas. One of the hardest working bands in Las Vegas is The Sin City Sinners who Eddie Trunk calls “The best local based rock experience in Vegas with great covers and original rock.”
The Sinners are Brent Muscat, Rob Cournoyer, Zachary Throne, Michael ‘Doc’ Ellis. Muscat is from Faster Pussycat fame while Cournoyer is known from Raging Slab. Throne is an actor/musician that has a musical catalog in his brain to match his outstanding vocal abilities. Ellis is a 17-year musician in Vegas and has worked with several other bands and adds a remarkable presence to the union. While the guys have a set list that changes from show to show, the audience is always presented with some of the best rock and roll at each one. Their covers are outstanding as well as their original recordings; in fact they just released a new album Dive Bar Days Revisited.
Belting out tunes for over an hour, the time came when Eric Martin from Mr. Big took the stage at Count’s Vamp’d. Mr. Big formed in L.A. in 1988 and remains today as when they first started, the same members of the band; Eric Martin/lead vocals, Paul Gilbert/guitar, Billy Sheehan/bass and Pat Torpey/Drums. Their music, best known for strong vocals and harmonies, has stood the test of time. Martin began his set with Alive and Kickin’ which had the crowd singing along immediately. His rich voice has remained the same after all these years and he performed several covers as well as many of Mr. Big’s well known hits, yet one of the biggest highlights of the night was when Martin began a bit of a story and wound up with To Be With You. The audience was elated with the music of the night and Martin expressed his appreciation for the fans. If you’re ever in Vegas, you must check out a Sinners’ show because you never know who will jump on stage to jam!
