Maryland’s own recently released But At What Cost??! via Thermal Entertainment. While they may not yet be a household name, this is actually the fifth release the band has put out, starting with Devil’s in the Details in 2013, followed by Never Too Late and Out of the Box. 2017 brought Lighten Up, an acoustic album featuring new versions of some of their previous tunes. After experiencing success on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Radio Chart and over 1.5 million YouTube views, Speed (vocals, guitar), Codey (lead guitar), Danno (drums), and Sam Sour (bass) joined forces with producer Steven Wright for this 2019 release.

Album opener, Dodging Bullets, does just what an opener should, setting the stage for the rest of the tracks, slowly building momentum throughout the song. Feel Inhuman comes next with its thought provoking lyrics and melodic vocals. World Gone Mad slows things down just a bit, but with a catchy chorus and heavy drum beat, it’s certainly no slow jam. Wise Up and Black Sunset are next on the list. Throughout the album, the listener will find only pure vocals (well, with some rasp and intensity, but no growls or “cookie monster” vocal stylings), as well as distortion guitars and a powerful rhythm section. Closing out the album are You’re Fine and Done My Best, the album’s first single and with good reason, as it is more than likely to be a live performance favorite.

Some reviewers have noted that the band’s sound is somewhat reminiscent of bands of the late 90s- early 2000’s and similarities can be found but is definitely no copy and have a sound all their own. The band currently has some East Coast shows on the books,so for the time being, the rest of country will have to settle for checking out the band on YouTube and social media.
