The valley of the sun heated up a few degrees when Tom Keifer took the stage Friday, May 3rd at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. Front and center stage, from beginning to end, from top to bottom Tom brought it. For a guy who says he battles with his voice everyday, he is definitely winning the war as he sounded great with his energizing southern rock; and a slight twist of gospel, which rocked the house for about one and a half hours.
Singing what will sure to be major hits off his first ever solo album he covered Solid Ground, A Different Light, It’s Not Enough, Cold Day In Hell, to the title track The Way Life Goes. One thing very cool about Keifer; as hard as he was brings it he takes the time to introduce each song and open up his mind to where he sat at that time in his life. It’s why the title of his album makes so much sense, The Way Life Goes. Keifer also brought his wife Savannah on stage numerous times to sing with him and credited her with some of the songwriting on the album. Tom also mixed in a few of Cinderella’s fan favorites including a stripped down, raw acoustic version of Shake Me and from the response of the crowd, they approved as well.
Keifer is a definite must see if he’s coming to a venue near you so checking him out. And if he doesn’t drop by your neck of the woods, hope is not lost; just strap yourself behind the wheel and put the pedal to the metal because the show is so worth it and Phoenix is looking forward to his return.
