On June 3, 2021, Hangin’ & Bangin’, “the most rockin’ live-stream weekly talk show” celebrated its one-year anniversary with special guests and a look back to past shows. The Artists on Lockdown webcast is hosted by legendary drummers and brothers, Carmine (Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart, Cactus) and Vinny (Dio, Black Sabbath) Appice, and Ron Onesti (CEO of the Arcada Theater).

Born out of the throws of the 2020 global pandemic, Hangin’ & Bangin’ was conceived by Steve Love, CEO of Love Productions, a global talent agency. As the world shut down and the live industry went dark, Love foresaw a pivot and gave his long-time friend and client Carmine Appice a proposal for a video streaming talk show on his Artists on Lockdown network. Although a bit out of his wheelhouse, Carmine jumped at the chance, along with Onesti and later his brother Vinny, and with Carmine’s industry connections was able to procure some amazing guests including legendary artists and industry icons.

In an unprecedented year of ups and downs, Hangin’ & Bangin’ has managed to produce a show every week, giving the music industry’s elite a platform to talk about their current musical ventures and crazy and wild road story tales. You never know what’s going to happen or what’s going to be said. In the year, Hangin’ &  Bangin’ has grown a loyal fan base and opened up a new world to the hosts as they’ve developed skills as interviewers.

In anticipation of the one-year anniversary show, Carmine went back to the archives and reflected on how much the show has evolved. With no experience as a talk show host, Carmine easily fell in, as did Onesti and Vinny. The show grew organically, the levity ensued, and thus, the chemistry followed suit. If Onesti is the glue, both Carmine and Vinny are the cement, running with the jokes, jabs, and quips. An episode is never without a jocular discussion about Onesti’s tee-shirt or, recently, Carmine’s hair.

To give an idea of the caliber of guests Carmine, Vinny, and Onesti bring, the anniversary show featured Mark Hudson, and past shows included Paul Shaffer, Darlene Love, Tommy Thayer, Ted Nugent, Eric Singer, Rick Derringer, Weird Al Yankovich, Dee Snider, Max Weinberg, Joe Bonamassa, Dweezil Zappa, Nicko McBrain, Lita Ford, Billy Sheehan, and Cherie Currie, to name a few. With future guests like Desmond Child, Suzie Quatro, Dennis DeYoung, Matt Sorum and so much more, this show can do no wrong.

Weekly live and archived broadcasts are available on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, and coming soon will be a line of Hangin’ & Bangin’ merchandise and the nationwide tour of the Appice Brothers live show Drum Wars.
